Volunteer with us

volunteer with us
We recognise the contribution our volunteers make in enhancing the patient and visitor experience at our Trust. Volunteering at Medway Foundation Trust offers you the chance to make our environment friendlier and more comfortable for patients, relatives and visitors.

We ask volunteers to offer a regular commitment to their role and, in return, we provide an exciting opportunity to meet people, learn new skills and make a difference to people’s lives.

Volunteers are able to get involved in the following areas:
  • ward volunteers
  • guides
  • shop assistants
  • clinic assistants
  • complementary therapists
  • Medway hospital radio
  • League of Friends

Become a volunteer

Anyone with an interest in health and wellbeing who is over the age of sixteen is welcome to apply.

Contact us to arrange a suitable time to attend an interview. You will be asked to provide two references and undergo criminal records bureau disclosure checks. When these checks have been completed you will be placed in a role depending on your skills, interests and time available.

All volunteers are given a full induction. Volunteers are reviewed regularly and attend training sessions which help them in their role.
