Appointment of Interim Trust Chairman

Peter Carter

The Trust is delighted to announce that our Council of Governors has appointed Dr Peter Carter OBE as Interim Chairman of Medway NHS Foundation Trust.
 
Peter has a wealth of experience in the health sector and has been Chief Executive of the Royal College of Nursing and Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. He has extensive knowledge and skills in strategic development and has a track record of success in large complex organisations.
 
Peter has been consistently ranked by the Health Service Journal as one of the top 100 most influential people in health and was awarded an OBE in 2006 for his services to the NHS.
 
Lesley Dwyer, Trust Chief Executive commented: " We are fortunate to welcome a person of Peter’s calibre and I am confident that we will benefit greatly from his extensive experience and expertise".
 
Peter said, “I am delighted to be joining Medway NHS Foundation Trust as Interim Chairman. It’s clear to see the Trust has made significant progress over the last 12 months and I look forward to working with patients, staff and stakeholders to further build on this”
 
The Council of Governors is currently undertaking the process of appointing a permanent Chairman.
