Comments about your care

Compliments, comments, concerns and complaints

At Medway Hospital we work hard to deliver the highest standard of care, and are always seeking ways to improve our service.

Comments and compliments

We would love to receive feedback and learn more about your experience. If you have a general comment to make about how we might improve our services or if you have a compliment about the care you have a received from a team or member of staff here at Medway, please complete our Friends and Family Test and let us know.

We understand that patients and their families often like to recognise the hard work and dedication shown by individual staff members. Please do let us know which member of staff has shown exemplary care. Your comment will be shared with them and also used during their annual appraisal.

Concerns and complaints

We recognise that there may be occasions when our service does not live up to your expectations. As a Trust we welcome feedback if you feel we could have done better. We look upon concerns and complaints as a way of improving future care for patients and putting things right when things have gone wrong. We are also committed to treating patients impartially and without discrimination or prejudice.

If you have a concern or complaint please, in the first instance, try to raise it immediately with ward or department staff as they will be keen to receive your feedback and have the opportunity to correct any problems immediately. If you remain dissatisfied, you can escalate your concerns to a Matron or Senior Manager who will be happy to listen and assist with any problems or concerns.

Alternatively, if you do not feel satisfied with the above actions and you wish to speak to someone outside the ward / department, then please speak to a member of our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS).
