Urogynaecology Service

Where to find us

Urogynaecology clinics take place at Medway Maritime Hospital (Area 7, Level 2, Green zone) and also at Sheppey Community Hospital.

About us

We offer conservative and surgical treatment of prolapse and incontinence. We perform a range of surgical procedures for incontinence, with mesh and non-mesh options, including TVT (when available), Autologous fascial sling, colposuspension and urethral bulking.

Our team includes consultants, junior doctors, clinical nurse specialists and physiotherapists. We hold regular multidisciplinary meetings to ensure the best treatment plans for patients and we work alongside doctors in other specialties such as Urology and General Surgery.

We also run a clinic for follow up of obstetric anal sphincter injuries.

We perform urodynamic investigations in both Medway Maritime Hospital (MMH) and at Sheppey Community Hospital.

Surgical procedures are performed in Sunderland Day Care or Main Theatres at MMH.

Patients must be referred by their GP and will be seen by a doctor or nurse specialist in clinic. Any necessary investigations can be organised, though sometimes treatment can be started at a first visit.
